Getting Started

Go to skype.com.

Select your device and download.

Go to the Downloads folder on your computer.

Select the Skype installation package.

Follow the on-screen instructions to install Skype.

Double-click on the Skype application icon.

Click on Let's go .

You will need a Skype or Microsoft account (ex: gmail account) to use Skype.

Click Sign in or Create and then write the necessary details.

Click + Contact in the left panel.

Search for your learners by typing their name in the Find people bar. You also have the ability to Invite your learners to Skype.

Add your learners to your account by clicking Add.

Send messages to your learners prior to the lesson.

Receive messages from your learners between lessons.

Click the three dots at the top left of the screen next to your name and select Settings.

Select Audio & Video and test your audio and webcam.

Click the Video Call icon on the top right of your screen.

If you would like to see the chat during your lesson, select Open Conversation at the bottom right of your screen.

During your lesson, click Open Conversation at the bottom right of your screen.

At the bottom right of the chat panel, click Add Files. If you do not see this icon, sleect the three dots and select from the list.

Select the file you would like to share and click Open.

You can add a message along with sending the file. Click the arrow to send.

Click Share Screen at the right of the Open Chat icon.

If you have multiple monitors, select the screen you would like to use.

Click Share Screen. As soon as you click this button, your learner will be able to see your screen.

Minimize Skype and open the document you would like to share with your learner.

When you want to stop sharing your screen, open Skype and click Screen Share.

Click Stop sharing.
